Nikkei is documentary about the identity of the Japanese who migrated to Latin America. It is the story of my grandparents, their trip from Japan to Peru, the media campaign against their race, World War II and the hope for a better life in Venezuela.

Bio and Filmography - Kaori Flores Yonekura
My father is Venezuelan and my mother is Japanese. I was born in Merida, Venezuela, and at age 22 I graduated at International School of Film and TV of San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba (1999). I have dedicated my work to human rights, popular culture, indigenous people and identity. My most important works are:
- Documentary Series (13 episodes) “Injerencia, la invasión silenciosa” on the interference of the CIA in Latin America. PanaFilms - Telesur - Villa del Cine. Venezuela
- Matrices - Iraq: short, 23 minutes. About of the media manipulation to justify the Iraq’s invasion . AC NO FILM
- Documentary Series (35 episodes) “Somos”: dedicated to Venezuelan indigenous.
